Do You Love Wine and Love to Sell?   Full/Part-Time  Retail Wine Sales Needed!

 

Joe Canal’s Discount Liquor Outlet  of Woodbridge is a 25,000 square foot Wine & Spirit superstore, the largest in central New Jersey.  We offer our customers an enormous global selection of over 10,000 items at unbeatable prices, as well as providing outstanding customer service.  Due to tremendous growth, we are looking to add to our top-notch Wine team

 

We are seeking an energetic, enthusiastic   professional who knows a little about wine and a lot about selling.    Whether it is for a special occasion, stocking up for a party, or simply a bottle for tonight’s dinner, you will be assisting our customers in selecting the wines that are perfect for them.   

 

Some knowledge and/or passion for wine is important, but it is your people skills, energy, and ability to sell wine to a diverse customer base that we are looking for.  We will provide further training but it is expected that your passion will drive you to develop a more in-depth knowledge and appreciation for wine.

 

You should have at least two years in a selling environment and prior successful retail wine sales experience is ideal.   You also must be able to work flexible hours which include evenings and weekends. We are retail after all.

 

Other responsibilities include:

  •          Educate consumers on enjoying wine and with energy and enthusiasm , SELL!.
  •          Assist  management with merchandising displays.
  •          Ensure  wine displays have professional Point-Of-Sale signage.
  •          Develop and maintain personal tasting notes/ “shelf-talkers” for merchandising wine shelves.
  •          Assist  Wine Manager  with tasting and evaluating new products.
  •          Conduct weekly in-store wine samplings

Requirements  
  • Two years in a selling environment and prior successful retail wine sales experience is ideal.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours which include evenings and weekends. 
  • Must have exceptional interpersonal and communication skills and be able to interact with the public and all levels of management.
  • Must be full of energy and enthusiasm with a passion for the product.
  • Must be available to work evenings and weekends as required.
  • Must pass criminal background check.
