Job Title:                IT Manager - America

Department:        Information Technology

Reports To:           CIO

 

  

SUMMARY:  Ensure streamlined operations of the US-based IT Group in aligning with core business objectives of the organization. This leader will plan, coordinate, design, and direct IT-related activities of the organization, as well as provide administrative direction and support for daily operational activities of the IT department. This role will also define and implement IT policies, procedures, and best practices.  This role works closely with US-based decision makers in other functional departments to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective business solutions for all aspects of the America’s operations.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Lead operational and strategic IT planning, administration, organization and negotiation for both Navico and contracted resources

 

Collaborate with key leadership to define business and systems requirements for new implementations

 

Establish and maintain regular written and in-person communications with the organization’s executives, department heads, and end users regarding pertinent IT activities.

 

Manage financial aspects of the America’s IT Group planning, budget development and review, as well as provide senior level controllership

 

Develop business case rationalizations and cost/benefit analyses for IT investments and initiatives

 

Approve and oversee projects and project portfolios

 

Direct research and evaluation of potential technology solutions in support of business operations

 

Negotiate and manage vendor, outsourced, and consultant contracts and Service Level Agreements (SLAs)

 

Implement and maintain best-practice asset management for IT hardware, software, and equipment

 

Manage IT staffing, including recruitment, supervision, scheduling, development, evaluation, and disciplinary actions

 

Oversee IT policies and procedures applicable to architecture, security, disaster recovery, standards, procurement, and service provision

 

Keep current with the latest technologies, trends, and industry best practices

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                    Direct supervision of the America’s IT team (5+ IT professionals)

 

Provide supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws

 

Responsible for interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems

 

Requirements

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:



Strong technical knowledge of server and end-user Microsoft based operating systems

Strong technical knowledge of Cisco network hardware, protocols, and standards

Proven experience in IT infrastructure planning, development, and management

Proven experience with aligning IT organizations to enterprise-level goals and objectives

Proven analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities

Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment

Extensive experience working in a team-oriented, global, collaborative environment

In-depth knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws

Strong leadership skills

Excellent written and oral communication skills

Exceptional customer service orientation

Excellent interpersonal skills

Ability to conduct and direct research of IT issues and products as necessary

Ability to present ideas and communicate in a business-friendly style and language

Highly self-motivated and directed

Proven experience with Human Resource Management (HRM) principles, practices, and procedures

Keen attention to details



EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

 

University degree in the field of Computer Science, MIS, or related degrees and at least 5 years of related leadership experience. A Master of Business Administration with technology as a core component is preferred
