This part-time position will serve as a back-up to other drivers; work hours and days will vary. Monday-Friday, Start Time 6am - or as needed.  

PRIMARY FUNCTION:


The Delivery Professional is responsible for professionally delivering orders to customer offices.

PREFERRED OFFICE/MACHINE EQUIPMENT EXPERIENCE:

Understands basic computer systems for data entry and inquiry.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

The main responsibilities of the Delivery Professional are:

• Delivering outbound customer orders.
• Checking and verifying inventory quantities in system.
• Understanding proper van loading procedures, including weights, temperature requirements, corrugated boxes, labels, and proper route sequencing.
• Reading and understanding the delivery ticket, including special instructions.
• Watching unit of measure, expiration dates, lot numbers, and damaged products.
• Comprehending basic warehouse layout of bins and items.
• Maintaining vehicle is clean and neat in appearance.
• Observing all posted traffic laws.
• Putting away stock at customer offices.
• Processing customer credits.
• Solving problems appropriately and on a timely basis.
• Understanding of HazMat, shipping requirements and the associated regulations.
• Organizing and controlling all copies of proof of deliveries.
• Observing Safety regulations, blood borne pathogens, DOT regulations, OSHA requirements and proper manual lifting techniques.
• Handling missed stops.
• Prioritizing time to complete deliveries daily.
• Must maintain a good attendance record.

NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

• Maintaining the security of the shipping dock.
• Identifying variables or exceptions to normal processing
• Perform any other job related tasks as assigned.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is subject to a typical warehouse environment and extensive driving. The employee is required to perform varied and repetitive warehouse tasks including possible operation of forklift, hand truck and manual lifting of boxes between 50 – 100 pounds.

Job Requirements

PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:

The Delivery Professional is required to have a valid driver’s license and a clean Motor Vehicle Record. Must be 21 years of age or older. A driver preferably will have one year of previous experience in a distribution center or warehouse atmosphere, including receiving, pulling orders, packing orders, quality control and shipping. Minimum education requirement is a High School diploma or G.E.D.
