Description
1. Evaluate and assess student instructional and behavioral needs.
2. Plan and implement individualized remedial instruction and therapeutic behavior management relative to the needs of the individual group in accordance with the school philosophy and goals.
3. Complete written reports, plans, and records that are relative to the educational program.
4. Cooperate with the multi-discipline staff team member through formal and informal meetings and informal consultations.
5. Supervise the Teacher’s Assistant and classroom mentor.
6. Actively participate in and contribute to in-service training and program development.
7. All other duties as assigned by the Educational Supervisor &/or Assistant Director
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Education, specifically Special Education, and a Pennsylvania State Teacher Certification or Emergency Certification required. Previous experience teaching students with emotional and behavioral disorders preferred. Must be able to obtain and maintain a satisfactory PA Criminal, Child Abuse and FBI clearances. Must be physically able to: a) climb stairs: b) take public transportation; c) assist with restraining students in emergency situations.
