Description One of the nation’s largest electrical distributors, Crescent Electric Supply Company is seeking an Account Manager to join our team in Omaha, NE. The Account Manager position will be responsible for selling Crescent’s total electrical product package to all market segments. This sales position will have a focus on selling to commercial and institutional businesses along with a strong focus on lighting and lighting applications. We are a family owned business with 120+ locations in 26 states.

 

This position is responsible for reaching sales and gross margin goals, understanding Crescent supported lighting and electrical products and their applications, prospecting and soliciting orders within the guidelines of management, identifying customer needs, proposing solutions, appropriate products, and services to meet those needs. This person will also be responsible for creating and maintaining solid, long-term business relationships with customers on behalf of Crescent Electric. In addition, the employee will be responsible for training internal and external customers and conducting demonstrations and seminars on products sold by the Company.

 

Extensive travel within the Omaha District territory is required. The district includes: Omaha NE, Lincoln NE, Grand Island NE, North Platte NE and Sioux City IA.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain superior knowledge of electrical, lighting and retrofit products and their applications. Know major competitor product lines. 
  • Reach sales and gross margin goals.
  • Conduct energy audits and recommend solutions by applying Crescent products and energy saving strategies.
  • Train employees and customers on company supported products by conducting product seminars.
  • Prepare and present application-oriented product demonstrations for sales calls.
  • Prepare and assist in preparing customer quotations and system layouts.
  • Assist with evaluation of existing and new lighting products.
  • Create and carry out business plans which analyze the needs of customers, and incorporate products and services offered by Crescent to satisfy those needs.
  • Creates and implements local and regional marketing plans as directed by management.
  • Regularly make sales calls to prospective customers and current customer establishments.
  • Utilize a conservative sales approach to sell products and services, offer add-on and up-sell products that may benefit the customer, and suggest alternative products when a customer-requested product is not available.
  • Cultivate and maintain solid, long-term relationships with customers and suppliers.
  • Assist and resolve customer requests and/or problems in a prompt and professional manner.
  • Keep customers informed about all relevant company and vendor policies.
  • Assist customers by pricing bills of material.
  • Report competitive conditions, observed customer financial weakness, and customer feedback to management.
  • Cooperate with suppliers to secure mutual business through joint sales calls.
  • Execute sales effort in an ethical and professional manner that will reflect favorably on the reputation of both the salesperson and the company.
  • Attend sales, product, and other branch/company meetings. 
  • Develop a sustainable sales/profit volume in assigned territory.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • No more than two moving violations in the previous twelve months and no more than four in the last three years. No major preventable accidents in the last three years. Violations of reckless driving, exceeding the speed limit in excess of 20 m.p.h. and driving under the influence are not acceptable.
  • Individual must possess strong, comprehensive PC skills (i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook products).
  •  Strong knowledge of the fundamentals of electricity and the products used to control and distribute electricity.
  • Must have ability to work quickly and accurately under time constraints and against deadlines. In addition, must possess interpersonal and organizational skills, be a self starter, be detail oriented, and have the ability to communicate (verbal and written).
  • Previous sales experience, previous knowledge of wholesale electrical distribution industry, and previous experience providing superior customer service preferred.
