Presently we are seeking a Senior Buyer. This position develops financial plans, merchandise assortments, marketing strategies, and plan for in-store execution. They will meet their sales plans & objectives through development of focused merchandise assortments, marketing & pricing strategies & and merchandise management. This position works closely with management team, inventory team, marketing team, & finance team. The position reports directly to Divisional Merchandise Manager, and has management responsibility for an Administrative Assistant.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and execute sales, margin & inventory plans.
- Develop assortment plans which support department goals. Execute seasonal merchandise plans and marketing strategies.
- Complete accurate forecasts evaluating financial elements based on current trend, events, & other factors which would impact the business.
- Development of store planning/planogram for category. Routine planogram updates.
- Development of marketing plans, and strategies. Develop plan for in-store visual & execution.
- Manage vendor performance to maximize profitability & achieve financial objectives.
- Develop strong vendor partnerships. Maintain collaborative relationships with vendor & internal partners.
- Coach & develop Administrative Assistant to ensure growth & readiness to next level position.
- Bachelor’s degree in related field
- 4-5 years retail buying experience
- Strong negotiation skills
- Strong merchandising, forecasting & planning skills
- Experience managing a direct report team as well as leading cross-functional teams
- Proficiency with Outlook, Excel, and Word, (Access a plus) ability to learn proprietary systems.
- Excellent communicator both oral and written.
- Strong organizational skills
- Creative problem solver
