Description

The Applications Sr. Analyst - eMessaging position is responsible for the implementation, maintenance, and support of the organization’s messaging system.  Works closely with first and second tier support staff to solve system problems.  Individual will ensure a smooth integration of all messaging systems in our environment as well as inter-operability with other diverse environments.  Provides technical support on local messaging replication and remote mail access issues.  Individual will provide accurate documentation that will assist in the maintenance of the messaging system.  Serves as an internal consultant to developers, assisting them in the areas of server support, security, ID files, and other development issues that will aid the process.  Requires solid working knowledge of WANs, LANs, and telecommunication concepts as they relate to the messaging sub-system and its database replication.


Duties and Responsibilities:

·        Leads projects to implement new and upgrade existing messaging technologies

·        Experience with design, implementation, management and administration/support of MS-Exchange 2003 in mixed environments (Windows 2000/2003), both client side and server side

·        Experience with installation and support of MS-Exchange 2003 Cluster servers

·        Experience with design, implementation, management and administration support of MS-Exchange 2007 both client and server side

·        Understanding o firewalls and routers from different vendors

·        Experience with installation and setup of VM machines

·        Knowledge and experience with scripting language

·        Monitors proactively for problems, manage problem resolution, including assisting other members of IS in resolving any messaging issues

·        Provides third level support to the various email integrated applications used by Bryan Cave

·        Troubleshoots and problem solves for mobile messaging systems, MS Outlook, and Microsoft Exchange

·        Troubleshoots and problem solves for all integrated messaging systems including, but not limited to, Rightfax, Enterprise Vault, Blackberry Messaging, GoodLink Messaging, and internally developed applications

·        Responsibility to develop ways to continuously improve system/process performance and efficiency, to reduce downtime and to ensure the highest level of security

·        Leads and participates in peer reviews

·        Mentors less experienced coworkers

·        Communicates effectively with vendors

·        Collects and reports on key performance indicators and measures of system reliability

·        Prepares and maintains email integrated application related documentation

·        Follows department policies and procedures, including change management procedures

Requirements

Qualifications:
·        Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) or Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) is preferred.

·        B.S. degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience.

·        Minimum of five (5) years experience in major areas of responsibility.

·        Minimum of five (5) years experience dealing with mail encryption, security permissions and undeliverable mail in MS Outlook.

·        Ability to interact professionally with both internal and external clients at all levels

·        Demonstrated expertise in the implementation, maintenance and support of an organization’s messaging system.

·        Must be subject matter expert on Outlook and Exchange

·        Must have expertise with an Active Directory environment

·        Possess basic project management, verbal and written communication and documentation skills

·        Proven expertise in Mobile Messaging (Blackberry and Goodlink) and Microsoft Exchange (version 2003 or 2007)

·        Experience working in a unified messaging environment and familiarity with HP hardware is a plus

·        Must possess the ability to participate in on-call rotation as scheduled
