Accountant - Commission Analyst

Description Bloom Marketing Group/ Bloom Insurance Agency is a tele-sales center specializing in senior citizen healthcare marketing.  We provide top notch health plan options for medicare eligibles to supplement and provide for their health plan insurance needs.  Bloom partners with prominent carriers in the national health insurance business.  We sell health insurance plans to senior citizens across the country.  WIth approximately 200 Licensed Health Agents, of whom many are licensed in up to 48 states, our Accounting/Finance Department is responsible for the accounting and reconcilitation of commission earnings related to sales.

The Commission Analyst  ("CA") is a newly created position, put in place to be responsible for software management, tracking, oversight and accountability for the important management of commissions.  Our Licensed Health Agents enroll seniors, our Commission Analyst will ensure accurate and timely flow of reconciliation between our partner carriers and our agent bonus earnings.  This position reports to the VP of Finance, and will be a key player in taking ownership of all things commission related. 

The CA will preferably hold an accounting degree, will be highly adept with numbers, with use of excel and general software programs to stage, enter, and maintain this business critical data.  Commission payments will be applied per company policies, always with high integrity and accuracy.  As a part of the Accounting / Finance Department, critical thinking to lend ideas for policy development will be welcome.  A continuous improvement approach to the role is essential, always keeping best practices top of mind.  Tracking and trending and extracting patterns will provide business centric analysis for the organization. 

Reporting, communication and use of interpersonal skills both internally and externally will be required.  Carrier communications and interface happens routinely related to reconciliation of invoices, and review of enrollment activity.  Report generation for internal knowledge building, sharing and disclosure should be routine.  Reporting to lead-supply vendors will also be a vital element of the CA role at Bloom. 

The position initially has a "building" phase, a setup phase, and then should settle into a maintenance - management of the data phase.  Ongoing however, this position should provide critical thinking and proactive strategy and idea generation to best oversee commissions.
