Production Team Lead


Summary:  Oversees, monitors, and coordinates the daily department production activities and facilitates departmental workflow giving importance to individual member's and overall team's achievement of established goals.

Supervisory Responsibilities:   Responsible for overall direction, coordination and evaluation of Production Department.  Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Supervisor responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.


Essential Duties:

  • Review production schedule and work orders to determine daily, weekly and monthly flow required to meet production objectives in the most efficient manner possible.
  • Work with supervisors to plan operations by establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products.
  • Prepare schedule and coordinate departmental manufacturing activities to ensure quality of products meets or exceeds specifications and the customer due dates.
  • Resolve manufacturing and problems to reduce costs and ensure maximum resource utilization and anticipate obstacles to prevent delays.
  • Ensure that equipment is maintained to ensure highest level of efficiencies and safety.
  • Achieve assigned production goals.
  • Manage, train, develop, and motivate department personnel to achieve production and divisional goals.
  • Resolve employee concerns or complaints. Act as liaison between team members and the rest of the organization.
  • Create a work environment that motivates employees to achieve higher quality products while maintaining production standards and a safe workplace.
  • Identify, train, assign, and coordinate employees within the department.
  • Lead by example, constantly striving for continuous improvement in all areas of responsibility.
  • Assist the Divisional Coordinator and Divisional Supervisor on special projects as requested.
Requirements

Education and/or Experience: 

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • One to three years of high volume manufacturing experience with a minimum of 1 year experience in a leadership/supervisory role

  • Good communication and written skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of good manufacturing practices
  • Experience with Process Improvement Initiatives/Lean/Six Sigma is a plus
