We are looking for an Executive Marketing Communications and Brand Manager to develop, implement, and manage overall marketing campaigns including driving processes and pan-company messaging.  This is a customer-focused, result-oriented position responsible for building and protecting the Cengage Learning brand reputation with internal and external stakeholders.  You will provide strategic support for key business initiatives, developing brand usage strategy, and ensure consistent brand integration between our internal systems and outside vendors.

 

This position is located in Mason, OH but will consider candidates for our Belmont, CA or Boston, MA office.

 

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Manage the development and production of all advertising/promotional materials for campaigns within our Academic and Professional Group (including direct mail, email, website/interactive demos, print collateral, in- and on- book messaging, convention materials, and more)

- Manage point of inception to final mailing or publication (including design, copywriting, copy editing, proofreading, and utilizing desktop publication system to develop materials in-house)

- Oversee creative resources to ensure creative concept is adhered to

- Drive the timeline for completing campaigns and ensure schedules are met

- Manage relationships with team and key stakeholders

- Writes copy as needed

- Manage project budgets within departmental standards 

  • Lead the Marketing Communications Council to build and maintain consistent campaign models and help drive the integration processes for planning, scheduling, executing, tracking, and reporting status and effectiveness of all campaigns
  • Act as an advocate for all written/verbal standards related to the company brand and initiatives and work with Marketing Communications Managers to integrate into their messaging, as appropriate
  • Serve as the Project Manager of the Branding Council to provide brand consultations and training
  • Own the structure of and drive usage for the Marketing and Marketing Communications intranet pages; work with team to improve usability and functionality
  • Stay abreast of best practices and developments in Marketing Communications, including being an expert in web 2.0 to incorporate into strategy
Requirements

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, English and/or equivalent
  • 5+ years experience in marketing communications
  • Proven success in developing, implementing, and managing effective marketing campaigns
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
  • Must have ability to manage and reliably deliver multiple projects with overlapping deadlines, provide client leadership, and maintain the highest degree of quality and customer focus
  • Must be a proven leader with strong people management skills

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • MBA
  • Industry experience in Publishing, Education Technology, or similar
  • Experience in corporate communications
