Job Description 

We are looking for a Records Management Professional to work in Alexandria, VA.

 

In this position, you would be responsible for special records management projects and programs, relating to individuals who have been affected by Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

 

***Please note, you do not have to have experience with PTSD.  Records Management experience is key.

 

Responsibilities include:

Participate in the planning and execution of major studies by researching voluminous documents systematically evaluating, analyzing and appraising records to determine which documents are suitable and by reconstructing activities of units and/or individuals who were exposed to Agent Orange, other herbicides, tropical diseases and insecticides, as well as activities of individuals who have been affected by Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Develops definite solutions to difficult problems and recommends them to supervisor for approval.

 

Conduct special management studies and executes complex projects.  Receives, evaluates, researches, coordinates and prepares final responses to special requests for records.  Ensures timeliness of reply as required under 5 USC 552 (Freedom of Information Act), EO 11652, or necessitated by other circumstances. 

 

Locates researches and analyzes documents which incumbent determines to be appropriate for requests for information or prepares written reports providing results of research.  Reviews records and determines if subject content is of a sensitive nature regarding action that may be required.  Prepares final recommendations or drafts of reports for review and action by higher graded specialist.  Recommends or adapts procedures and standards for categorizing and incorporating records into GSA centers under the National Archives and Record System (NARS).  Assists in developing definitive solutions to problems related to the access and release program.

 

Coordinates with records personnel in researching requested materials. Visits other activities, such as General Services Administration and Federal Archives Records Centers, and records holding facilities to locate documents and arrange for their immediate shipment.

 


Job Requirements 

Must be a US Citizen.  Must have a minimum of a DOD SECRET security clearance.

 

Records Management experience, required.

 

Experience with Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and National Archives and Records Systems (NARS), strongly preferred.
