ResourceTek, in support of our client, a leading global manufacturer and supplier of steel products, is establishing a Preventative Maintenance team. We are currently seeking a Maintenance Supervisor with experience in implementing industrial preventative maintenance programs.
Essential Job Functions
- Supervises, assigns work and determines work loads/schedules of maintenance employees. Inspect jobs in process and at completion to ensure that standards of workmanship and safety are maintained.
- Determines material, equipment, and supplies to be used. Transfers equipment and personnel from one project to another as necessary.
- In control of preventive/predictive maintenance programs to maintain production machinery and equipment in proper working condition
- Ability to install, inspect, repair and maintain all industrial equipment and machinery in the facility.
- Answers questions and provides information related to projects including resolving problems, handling complaints and providing technical expertise in area of assignment.
- Interacts professionally with the client, co-workers and vendors. Maintains effective working relationships and works in cooperation with the management team to effectively meet departmental objectives. Strive to meet all departmental goals in relation to quality, and on-time delivery of service.
- Assists in the selection of staff; performs periodic evaluations of subordinates and recommends and implements discipline as required.
- Ensures that safety training is provided to staff and that proper safety practices are followed.
- Attend weekly meeting(s) and be willing to work overtime to meet production demands.
- Maintain department cleanliness.
- Verify and record hours work by employees in order to track attendance and provide information to payroll for processing.
- Promote positive employee relationships throughout plant, maintain open lines of communication and work with employees to resolve obstacles.
Requirements
- 7+ years industrial, mechanical maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment; 5+ years of supervisory experience; industry background in heavy manufacturing related; Mining, paper mills, steel plants, refining, utilities, refractory, heavy equipment fabrication, stone processing, cement plants industries preferred;
- Positive & proactive attitude with ability to address issues and implement solutions
- SAP experience is a plus
- Ability to understand complex written and oral instructions
- Strong interpersonal/people skills; results driven; self starter; able to initiate and be willing to hold others accountable for achieving company and site objectives.
- Communication and effective interaction with co-workers, managers, subordinates and the general public sufficient to exchange or convey information and to give and receive work direction.
- Possess techniques for effectively dealing with a variety of individuals from various socio-economic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds, in person and over the telephone.
- In order to meet essential functions of position must be proficient in: troubleshooting and repair of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, use of computers and technical software applications, root cause analysis of system malfunctions with the use of modern diagnostic equipment, repair and installation of electrical wiring and equipment; electrical services including conduit runs, panel and junction boxes, switches/controls & bus-bar, and installation and repairs of various manufacturing equipment.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Must possess strength, stamina and mobility to perform heavy physical work in all climate conditions with exposure to potentially hazardous conditions, use varied hand and power tools, drive a motor vehicle and/or heavy construction equipment; lift and move materials and equipment weighing up to 90 pounds and heavier weights with the use of proper equipment. Must work emergency overtime as required
