Candidate selected must have demonstrated ability to establish and lead cross-functional sourcing teams and have strong oral and written communication skills, and  have ability to develop and give presentations on various sourcing issues to senior  business unit and supply chain management. Candidate will be required to develop sourcing strategies for assigned sourcing category and follow-through with the execution of those sourcing plans. Position will also interface with various levels of the Supply Chain organization as well as the assigned business areas, Finance, Legal and the Insurance departments.

Duties include participating in the development, management, and implementation of strategic sourcing initiatives for assigned corporate-wide commodities or services categories.  Leads sourcing initiative and project teams using established sourcing best practices and project management methodology. Negotiates or manages the negotiation of contract terms and conditions, cost savings, and performance standards to meet desired initiative or project outcomes.  Communicates with all levels of management within the sourcing area and within the company.  Regularly participates in business unit meetings to communicate or collaborate on initiatives, project activity, supplier performance and business planning. Reviews and analyzes financial data for assigned business unit, or assigned commodity or services category initiatives and projects. Initiates action through business unit customers and suppliers to resolve disputes, negotiate solutions, and implement corrective actions where necessary.

Position will be located in Minneapolis or Denver.

To be considered applicants must have a Bachelor degree in Business, Engineering, Management, Purchasing, or related field; MBA desired. Eight plus years of supply chain and industry experience; two years of contract negotiation experience. Demonstrated leadership, extensive project management, and interpersonal and relationship skills required. Must have risk and financial modeling expertise; significant sourcing and contract knowledge and influencing skills. Proficiency with Microsoft office suite to include Excel and Access required. Possess and maintain Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) certification or ability to obtain within 18 months of start date. Ability and willingness to travel is required. Valid Drivers License is required.
