Responsible for patient preparation and recording of electroencephalogram (EEG) tracing. Monitor and edit Video EEG. Perform Brainstem Auditory Evoked Response (BAER) and Somatosensory Evoked Response (SER) and other related tests. Perform Visual Evoked Potential (VEP), median nerve and posterior tibial nerve studies in accordance to established procedures. Serve as technical lead over lower level staff and assist in training of hospital personnel. Ensures adherence to hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Patient care assignment may include: Neonate, Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult and Geriatric age groups.
Related Education and Experience may be substituted for one another on a year for year basis.
Education Requirements:
Electroneurodiagnostic Technology certificate or related degree
American Board of Registry of Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologists (ABRET): pass EEG written and oral examinations
Experience Requirements:
5 years EEG and evoked potential experience of which 1 year must have been monitoring EEG and EP operating room experience
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
CPR Certification or must obtain within 30 calendar days of date of position
Education Requirements - Preferred:
Neurophysiologic Intraoperative Monitoring (CNIM) written examination certificate
