Position Overview:
The Business Systems Analyst acts primarily as a Systems Analyst for multiple projects and multiple Retail, Financial and Supply Chain business systems. The Business Systems Analyst must exercise independent judgment and generally understand the impact on business functions of decisions. This position requires managing multiple priorities at once, and consistent communication with team. The Business Systems Analyst provides a recommendation for business critical decisions and receives guidance from the partnering business units, as well as the Director, Applications. The incumbent makes non-business critical decisions independently, with occasional guidance from the partnering business units, as well as the Director, Applications. This position reports to the Director, Applications.
Job Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):
· Requirements gathering and analysis
· Business process optimization
· Executing and facilitating system and user acceptance testing
· Initiate direct communication with specific customers, clients, suppliers & systems personnel
· Utilize strong analytical and problem solving skills to solve business problems and determine suitable IT solutions
· Lead meetings to coordinate work and resolve problems
· Provide support to system users as required
· Establish and maintain excellent working relationships with application software vendors, departmental staff, and the business operations team.
· Lead and conduct the investigation, analysis and documentation of business and functional requirement specifications
· Create functional diagrams, system interface diagrams, and functional design specifications for the development staff as related to the business requirements
· Define and document new business processes and re-engineer existing business processes.
· Generate test plans and facilitate user acceptance testing.
· Author and maintain system and project documentation.
· Act as the liaison between IT and the business for projects.
· Review and evaluate systems, business processes and integration issues to identify improvement opportunities
· Complete project tasks as assigned by the project manager
· Ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines
· Flexibility to handle many tasks and communicate appropriate status to the appropriate persons in a timely manner
