Job Description 

Job Summary: 

The Technical writer is responsible for using knowledge of Army aviation, maintenance, and logistical procedures to assist in the conversion and development process of IADS/Technical Manuals for the UH-60 Black Hawk, CH-47 Chinook, and other potential platforms.  This position is also required to review MIL-STD 40051B and MIL-STD-40051C converted technical manuals for accuracy and proper references to outside work packages to ensure completion of maintenance and troubleshooting tasks. One is also required to understand Modification Work Orders (MWOs).

 

Summary of Essential Job Functions: 

·         Develop and maintain an understanding of MIL-STD 40051B and MIL-STD 40051C

·         Participate in the development, input, review, and updating of Task Mapping database to include key data elements and all necessary information, for storage and availability in current and future work efforts

·         Write Modification Work Orders in Microsoft Word, given the data package from the government

·         Review interactive electronic schematics for technical accuracy

·         Use SML mark-up software to tag aircraft system and sub-system data for conversion into MIL-STD 40051B and/or MIL-STD 40051C compliant Electronic Technical Manuals

·         Use conversion software to convert source data graphics files to vector based graphics

·         Use and create schema, DTD’s and/or stylesheets for formatting converted SML/SGML source data

·         Use IADS (Interactive Authoring and Display System) to create, edit, and view converted XML and SGML documents

 


Job Requirements 

Minimum Requirements: 

MUST HAVE SOME TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE WITH MILITARY HELICOPTERS

·         Have good organizational skills. Must have prior experience with Microsoft Office Suite. Must have an understanding of HTML or XML.

·         Must comply to company work hours.
