ThyssenKrupp is building a $3.7 billion world class, state-of-the-art steel and stainless processing facility in Alabama. The facility is a cooperative effort between two ThyssenKrupp business segments, Steel and Stainless.
The project is actively seeking new ground floor team members, and is expected to begin operation in 2010, and when fully operational, will create 2,700 jobs, and will serve industries including automotive, packaging, construction, electrical and utility, in addition to serving manufacturers of appliances, precision machinery and engineered products.
The ThyssenKrupp Steel USA facility will produce carbon steel for high-value applications by manufactures in the U.S. and throughout North America.
ThyssenKrupp Steel is a global player holding leading positions worldwide. The segment is organized into the business units Steelmaking, Industry, Auto and Processing. ThyssenKrupp Steel accounts for around 20 percent of ThyssenKrupp's consolidated sales.

Quality Systems Specialist

Job Description
ThyssenKrupp is a global leader in carbon and stainless steel with a proven track record of innovation, corporate citizenship, social and environmental responsibility, employee safety, and customer satisfaction.
We are seeking an experienced Quality Systems Analyst to assist with the development of ThyssenKrupp Steel's developing mill operations in Calvert, Alabama.
Our Quality Systems Specialist will:
- Be responsible for developing and deploying ISO specifications across the entire organization
- Work with the Business Units to establish business processes in a "Greenfield" landscape
- Facilitate working sessions with the Business Units and 3rd party vendors to ensure the quality of business process documentation and that governance policies are followed
- Develop an internal audit program
- Coordinate with the Business Units with continuous quality improvement initiatives
- Provide direction and supervision to team members, as required during the development cycle of assigned projects
- Collaborate with Business Units to define Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and metrics for use of monitoring their processes
Job Requirements
Our Quality Systems Specialist will have:
- 3 to 5 years experience with defining and developing Quality Management Systems that consider the impact on organization, systems, and key performance indicators
- Bachelors Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Proficient in ISO requirements, such as ISO/TS 16949, ISO 9001, ISO 18001, ISO 14001, etc.
- Knowledge of Quality Management Principles, e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, etc.
- Able to facilitate Quality System sessions to gather requirements to meet ISO requirements
- Excellent organizational skills, very good oral and written communication skills, with ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people
- Excellent analytical, mathematical and creative problem solving skills
- Experience with BPM or QS software (Nimbus, IBM, etc.)
- Proficiency in MS Office products
- Steel industry or other continuous manufacturing experience helpful
- ASQ certification is a plus
