Virtualization Consultant (Systems Engineer)

IP Pathways (www.ippathways.com) is seeking a Technology Consultant in Omaha, NE. This is a full-time position and will the cornerstone of our virtualization and storage practices in the Nebraska market.  The ideal candidate will be utilized for pre-sales engineering, solution architecture and technical implementations of virtualized environments including ESX, vSphere, VDI, View, Core Switching and SAN/NAS elements.  This position requires the candidate to possess experience and expertise in these technologies and is not a learn-as-you-go position.

IP Pathways is a VMware Enterprise Partner, NetApp Gold Partner and Hitachi Data Systems Silver partner who is expanding our business into the Nebraska market.  We have projects that will require immediate engineering support and the ideal candidate will be able to make an impact from day one. 

What you’ll need for this position:

VCP strongly preferred 

• VMware ESX, vSphere, VDI and View knowledge and experience
• Strong experience with SAN, NAS, NFS, Fibre Channel, and other storage products
• Strong understanding of core windows Infrastructure technologies (Windows TS, AD, GPO, CIFS, DFS) within enterprise 
• Strong understanding of Cisco core switching
• Proven record of delivery in a consulting role

VMware: 

• Expertise with VMware Infrastructure 3 and/or vSphere 4 
• Expertise with VMware VirtualCenter / vCenter Server 
• VMware VDI/View design and implementation 
• ThinApp Installation
• 3 + Years experience required 

Microsoft:

• Enterprise Level AD architectural skills
• AD Security Best Practice
• Exchange migration and implementation expertise
• SQL server implementation expertise 
• 3 + years experience required

Storage, Fibre Switches and Backup:

• Expertise in both NAS (CIFS/NFS) and SAN (iSCSI/FC) 
• Expertise in Cisco/Brocade FC workgroup class SAN switches 
• NetApp Design, implementation and troubleshooting 
• Backup Solutions including TAPE, VTL, D2D and Deduplication 
• Experience designing NAS and SAN for virtualized environments a plus 
• Expertise in Storage Management tools
• 3 + years experience required 

Citrix (Not Required But A Plus)

• Expertise with Citrix MetaFrame/Presentation Server/XenApp 
• Deep technical understanding of Presentation Server/XenApp core technologies (e.g. ICA protocol, Session Stability, CSG, WI, SQL Server, Licensing Server and Citrix Client Software) 
• Strong understanding of core windows Infrastructure technologies (Windows TS, AD, GPO, CIFS, DFS) within enterprise 
• Experience managing systems, user configuration and technology deployments across large, distributed environments. 
• Strong troubleshooting mindset (i.e. parsing event logs, sysinternal tools, analyzing memory dumps) 
• Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, XenServer, HyperV, Citrix XenDesktop, VDI) 
• Scripting Ability highly desired (whether PowerShell, WMI, VBScript, ETC) 
• 3+ years experience required
