Description The Midwest Psychological Center is looking for a full time Behavioral Consultant. The Behavioral Consultant will be responsible for designing and directing the implementation of the behavior modification intervention plans to individuals in the Bloomington area. Applicants must have a Master's Degree and at least five years experience working in a Developmental Disability field. Evening hours and on call coverage are required.



SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conducting telephonic assessments and counseling.
  • Coordinating consultations and referrals.
  • Handling after care monitoring (following up with families and/or providers to assure the safety of family members, employees, continuation of treatment, etc.)
  • Acting as a point of contact during a crisis episode both for internal and external customers.
  • Participate in planning and/or conducting of behavioral appraisals and interventions, including drafting procedures, collecting data, and interpreting results.
  • Coordinate, conduct, and contribute to in service, training and professional development programs for staff working with consumers.
  • Prepare and submit reports as required.
  • Provide direct assessment of individuals within their home or other setting to help in developing a shirt term treatment plan to manage the current crisis episode.
  • Provide consultative services with other crisis team staff in order to determine if an individual should be placed in an out of home placement setting.
  • Collect and analyze data pertaining to the health and safety of individuals served by the AWS crisis assistance program.
  • Participate in the crisis assistance regional staff meetings as necessary.
  • Participate in agency compliance initiatives as they relate to behavioral health care.
  • Participate in audits, surveys, accreditations or other activities as required.
  • Provide clinical expertise related to any behavioral health related investigations.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements REQUIREMENTS:
Applicant must have a Master's Degree and at least 5 years experience working in a Developmental Disability field. Supervisory experience is preferred.
