Description
This function is responsible for the selection, coordination, training, setup and maintenance of external service centers globally. The Field Service Representative assists in the installation, performs field service repairs and provides training of Fixed Monitoring systems.
Description of Duties:
In cooperation with Sales Management and Operations Management, responsible for the strategic selection, placement, training and coordination of external service centers globally. Assure compliance with company approved product standards, processes and procedures standards. This responsibility includes all Instrumentation product groups.
Responsible for training service technicians of external service centers including designing & executing training and awarding compliance certifications. This training designed in conjunction with Repair Center Supervisor.
Work with end-users in the installation, setup, training and servicing of Fixed monitoring systems globally.
Maintain records on external service centers including compliance certifications, geographic coverage data, authorize products, contact information and other necessary data.
Act as coordinator with external service centers including assuring their compliance to engineering change notices and other product and service related communications.
Track and report on warranty costs and material usage by external service centers. Manage these costs to cost budget.
Under the direction of the Management, assist in training and establishing processes for company owned repair centers outside of the United States.
Maintain service records, field failure modes and instrument traceability as requirements.
Work with service centers to establish a feedback system to alert Quality Control department of failure trends and important findings.
When appropriate during regularly scheduled travel, work with sales as a technical resource for sales training or end-user interface.
Other duties as needed by the company.
Requirements
A strong technical knowledge level is required, with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in instrumentation and electrical field service work. Must have a working knowledge of electrical code, materials and terminology. Knowledge of gas detection, test bench systems and being E2 licensed is a definite plus. Advanced knowledge of technology associated with instrumentation and electrical work is required. Strong coordination skills are required to handle assigned projects. Understanding customer service metrics required. Excellent communication and facilitation skills required. Knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Systems is required.
