**Accredo Pharmacists do NOT work Overnight Shifts and do NOT work Weekends**
The Pharmacist monitors and reviews Rx Direct prescriptions that will be dispensed to patients, physician’s offices, clinics, or other designated sites. This position provides support to Pharmacy Technicians that will be receiving prescriptions over the telephone, and receive prescription clarifications from Prescribers for the Prescriber Contact Center.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinates clinical pharmacy patient care and/or pharmacy production activities.
- Reviews/monitors prescription medications taken over the phone by Pharmacy Technicians to determine the appropriateness of therapy/drug interactions as assigned.
- Receive prescriptions over the telephone from a Prescriber or Prescriber’s agent.
- Keeps abreast of latest development concerning new therapies, technologies, or developments reported from current medical and pharmacy literature regarding biotech drug therapy and disease management.
- Provides clinical consultations and information regarding services, pharmaceuticals to physicians and other health care professionals.
- Documents quality control measure, participates, in Continuing Quality/Improvement program and ensures that pharmacies are in compliance with all standards. Ensures adherence to pharmacy state/federal licensure requirements/regulations and maintains required paperwork.
- Ensures compliance to “pharmacy law", in dispensing to states in which the company is doing business. Monitors pharmacy technician activities to ensure compliance with applicable state and federal laws and regulations.
- Provides direction to Pharmacy Technicians as needed.

- B.S. or PharmD Degree in Pharmacy
- Registered Pharmacist in the state of practice
- Superior verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to utilize computer applications
- Knowledgeable of pharmacy state laws and regulations, including generic substitution laws
- Broad knowledge of medications
- Ability to understand and follow Standard Operation Procedures (SOPs)
- Alert, focused, organized and detailed-oriented
- Capable of making good decisions and exercising independent judgment in a timely fashion
- Superb interpersonal skills, self-motivated and enthusiastic
- Skilled at identifying and resolving problems
- Excellent customer-service skills-possess a “customer first" attitude
Preferred Background /Skills:
- Graduate Degree (Pharm.D.) and 1 year pharmacy experience
- Knowledge of Microsoft Window Applications – Word, Excel, Outlook
