Description
Aerospace machine shop and parts manufacturer needs a Manufacturing Engineer with solid experience in programming CNC equipment. Will review prints, develop processes and methods for manufacturing parts. Will design cutting tools, document preventative maintenance instructions, and train machine operators.
In pre-production and production phases of a program, the Manufacturing Engineer will determine manufacturing procedures, establish operation sequencing, prepare tooling and gauging lists, prepare and prove out N/C programs and write detailed operation sheets to produce complex machined parts. Provides CAD/CAM support to Engineering and Manufacturing and ensure activities meet present and long-range company goals.
In post production phase, upon improving any operation or process, the manufacturing engineer will make sure all set up documentation is correct, program changes are captured and saved in central library cycle and any cycle time changes are entered into the MRP System.
Requirements
Engineering degree preferred, but not required. Must have at least five years of experience in complex part manufacturing, especially aerospace parts. Must have five years of experience in methodizing of new jobs and programming of CNC equipment. Should have engineering experience concerning on quality improvements, cost reduction initiatives, and time-cycle estimates.
Will design and develop tooling concept, tooling geometry, and part layout using CAD/CAM equipment. Must have experience taking new components from print to production. Should have experience with 3-D CAD drawing and CAM programming, knowledge of CATIA is a big plus. Must have strong experience with large CNC lathes utilizing steady rests and tail stocks. Must have experience with 4 axis CNC mills, verticals with tail stock and horizontals.
