· KEY FOCUS WILL BE ACCOUNTING SYSTEMS: E.G., A/P; A/R; G/L, BUDGETING-PLANNING-FORECASTING; CASH MANAGEMENT, ETC.
· Manage multiple application development activities encompassing analysis, design, development, implementation, evaluation, monitoring and support of new and/or existing systems or technology platforms.
· Have overall budget responsibility for technology initiatives. Manage a budget and/or staff equivalent of over $5 million.
· Manage a technologically diverse staff which includes employees, consultants and/or fixed price staff through direct / indirect subordinates.
· Reports to VP and/or CIO.
· Related responsibilities typically include the following:
- Oversee systems design, development, and systems maintenance across multiple platforms (e.g., mainframes, micros, and workstations).
- Partner directly with key business leaders and provides strategic system solutions to business initiatives.
- Consult with multiple business area management regarding technical alternatives or enhancements that are consistent with business strategy or industry practice and architecture guidelines.
- Interact with systems users (i.e., business, operations, customers and other members of the systems community) in carrying out responsibilities.
- Manage systems development teams and is responsible for technical oversight and resource management.
- Support corporate and business area systems, distributed processing, client server, internet/intranet and Web site applications.
- Provide overall guidance and direction to IT managers.
- Select and manage strategic vendors and outsourcing partners.
- Involved in technology investments, platform integration, systems architecture, and software integration.
- Direct responsibility for management of group performance evaluations, promotional approvals, and compensation recommendations.
- Responsible for financial budgeting and management and expense management.
Accountable for compliance on all accounts: SOX, Regulatory, Company Policies and Standards.
- Perform related duties as assigned or requested.
Requirements
· IN-DEPTH KNOWLEDGE OF ACCOUNTING APPLICATIONS, E.G., A/P; A/R; G/L, BUDGETING-PLANNING-FORECASTING; CASH MANAGEMENT, ETC.
· PMI Certification.
· 15 years application development, including: 5 years experience in managing projects and staff, in-house development teams, and vendor supported applications.
· Knowledge of systems development life cycle and application program development alternatives.
· Leadership, team building and coaching skills.
· Bachelor Degree in a related field or commensurate experience required.
· Relationship, project, and people management skills.
· Analytical and technical skills.
· Candidate should have the knowledge and/or experience in the following:
- SAP
- Computron Financial products
- Cognos 8 ePlanning
- Web, client server and mainframe based financial systems with emphasis on Insurance business
