Job Description 

We are currently seeking an Area Manager in Augusta, GA.
 
This position assists the District Manager with day-to-day activities while providing customer service and leadership for regional associates. This job is responsible for supporting the planning, leading, organizing and executing of territory operations in order to provide for quality customer services and high customer satisfaction, financial profitability, and a trained and satisfied workforce. In addition, the Area Manager is responsible for continually developing new business opportunities. 
 
This is a full-time day shift position; Monday through Friday, approximately 40 hours per week. Local travel is required daily.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
 
  • Oversees and monitors customer facility operations. Drives quality assurance and performance improvement as needed. Visits on-site with employees at least weekly and checks in by telephone as needed; works with field supervisors and staff to achieve desired results on tasks performed and accuracy.
  • Demonstrates a solid understanding of the meaningful financial metrics driving the Company business including revenue mix, revenue per business day, labor per payroll day, and labor productivity standards and utilizes this information to manage his/her book of business.
  • Demonstrates a strong understand of facility and territory operating performance through thorough quarterly business review presentations. 
  • Monitors and communicates marketing needs and changes within the territory to District Manager.
  • Develops new business opportunities with new customers and existing customers and works with sales partners and others as appropriate to pursue and close these opportunities.
  • Completes routine and non-routine reports and customer requested reports and submits to customer.
  • Completes required paperwork accurately, legibly and in a timely manner, including new hire paperwork, time worked, PTO & leave requests, expense reimbursements, PR11s, incident reports & incident investigation reports, separations from employment (including RIF & pre-discharge reports), financial questions form, operation reports, etc.
  • Recruits and hires competent, qualified staff commensurate with defined job responsibilities.
  • Directs the work of subordinate employees, and is responsible for the advancement, promotion and other change of status of subordinate employees.
  • Provides staffing to ensure quality services according to contract agreements and budget.
  • Ensures that staff is oriented, trained and the competence of staff is assessed (including but not limited to ROI & HIPAA), maintained, demonstrated and improved continually.
  • Understand and utilize HealthPort’s method of compensation for the representatives, administer payroll bi-weekly, continually review and update commission rates using CommSite.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and work with Help Desk to resolve all escalated matters.
  • Carries out responsibilities in accordance with HealthPort policies and procedures and applicable regulations, including HIPAA, state/federal regulations related to operations, and labor regulations.
  • Maintain professional behavior at all times.
  • Responsible for any other activity deemed necessary by the District Manager
 


Job Requirements 

  • Minimum of 2 years management experience in a healthcare environment
  • Prior experience in a medical office or medical records department
  • Must have strong computer software experience – general working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel required
  • Previous ROI experience preferred
  • Previous supervisory experience desired
  • Must be proactive, a leader, and have a positive outlook/outgoing personality
  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks at one time
  • Must be able to use fax, copier, microfilm machine
  • Must be willing to learn new equipment and new processes quickly
  • Must have strong analytical skills
  • Must have excellent leadership and good decision making skills
 
Education:
 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business/Medical Management
