Telecom Project Manager

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

Responsible for overseeing a 4000 + port highly complex and converged voice
and data project from inception to implementation. Individual will work
with the internal and end-user staff to identify project resources, tasks
and assign individual responsibilities. The Project Manager will develop
and maintain detailed project plans and other related documents based on
the customer's project design.

* Work with Sales to generate and present quotes based upon customer
requirements for moves and changes all the way to complete system
relocations and new system installations.
* Responsible for maintaining accurate and detailed documentation and
system information for projects that you are working on.
* Maintaining a highly detailed and consistent tracking of internally
utilized resources
* Responsible for problem resolution dealing with system installations
including coordinating with customers, other employees as well as other
field installers.
* Submit status reports to management summarizing completed projects/tasks.
* Responsible for problem resolution by working as a go-between our company
and our clients including coordinating with our Service Manager as well as
other field installers.
* Oversee end-user and Team Member field relationships to enable
communication and obtain credible field logistics operational information.
* Supervise technicians during a highly complex project to insure project
is completed on time and under budget.
* Business focal point for field logistics training in terms of content,
delivery, and assessment of effectiveness. 

This is a direct hire position for our client, an international telecommunications company. 

We need an experienced PM with a background in Fiber, Cable, and large voice
networks. RCDD or PMP is preferred. Cisco experience is a plus. Must be able to hire, fire, and motivate. Prefer those with at least 10 years of Telecom Project Management experience.
 

Education:

Bachelor's degree preferable or equivalent years of experience is required.

Specialized Skills / Training:

* Working knowledge of field logistics operations with telecommunications
preferred.
* Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Project & Word are
necessary.
* Necessary skills also include oral and written communication, analytical,
prioritization, negotiation, and presentation.
* Position requires self-direction, a high level of motivation and drive
for success. Also requires commitment and desire to satisfy our clients by
understanding their technology needs and problems.
* Must be an excellent communicator and possess above average verbal and
written skills.
* Previous leadership / management responsibility of at least 10 people for
no less than 8 years
* Working knowledge across a broad scope of technologies including data
networking, cabling infrastructure, various security services, and wireless
campus applications.

Experience:

* Experience in project management implementation and job cost budgeting.
* Experience with managing teams remotely.
* Ability to easily engage both senior management and logistics
professionals.
* Results-oriented and strong project management skills
* Experience in utilizing Microsoft Office programs.

A drug screen, criminal background check and driving record check will be administered.
