Reports To:            Regional Vice President
Supervises:            Store Managers

General Purpose of Position:

The District Manager is responsible for overseeing several multi-million dollar stores. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, driving sales and delivering strong operations, controlling expenses and payroll budgets, handling personnel issues, accounting, merchandising, loss prevention and overall supervision of Store Management.  The District Manager is ultimately responsible for ensuring the highest level of customer service throughout the stores within the district.

Responsibilities:

·          Deliver excellent customer service and demonstrate a high degree of professionalism as well as leadership

·          Assist in the recruitment and hiring of the most qualified managers to meet the district's needs

·          Conduct orientation, train and coach the management staff in execution of daily tasks.

·          Participate in administering company policies and developing long range goals and objectives

·          Coordinate sales promotion activities, pricing of merchandise and maximize sales

·          Oversee preparation of merchandise placement and displays

·          Review operational reports and records to ensure adherence to Company policies and procedures, monitor store profitability, and manage payroll budgets

·          Coordinate new store openings and/ or closing of existing locations

·          Ensure that proper channels of communication exist between the stores and headquarters

·          Oversee compliance of Store Managers with established Company policies and standards, such as safekeeping of Company funds and property, personnel practices, security, sales and record-keeping procedures, and overall maintenance of the stores by performing required audits

·          Work to resolve issues that affect the stores service, efficiency, and productivity

·          Inspect premises of stores to ensure that adequate security exists and that physical facilities comply with safety and environmental codes and ordinances

·          Ability to provide outstanding customer service

·          Ability to develop and train work force, build relationships, utilize skills of workforce most appropriately

·          Ability to maintain a fair, consistent set of standards as they apply to work force

·          Ability to adjust priorities and manage time wisely in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to maintain records and documentation pertaining to work force
  • Ability to communicate in a clear, concise, understandable manner, and listen attentively to others


Requirements:

·          7+ years retail store management experience in a multi-site environment

·          Previous experience directing a multi-million dollar sales volume

·          Extensive knowledge of retail operations and merchandising in a big box retail environment

·          Strong communication skills (verbal & written), including strong relationship building skills

·          Travel required – to all markets within the region
