Description
We are currently looking for Student Finance Trainer to join our Rasmussen team traveling between our 16 campuses. This position is 80% travel. The Student Finance Trainer is accountable to the National Director of Student Financial Services with a dotted line to the Manager of Student Accounts for the training of the Financial Aid and Student Accounts departments.
General Duties:
1. Trains all campus student financial services employees on federal, state, and institutional policies regarding delivery of student assistance. This is including, but not limited to, new staff and ongoing training for current employees.
2. Develops new training presentations and maintains policy manuals for financial aid and student accounts.
3. Conducts on site campus, regional and WebEx training sessions.
4. Reads, complies, and analyzes all current and new regulations pertaining to the financial area. Keeps National Director of Student Financial Services abreast of new/changes in regulations.
5. Assists in making decisions and policies to address enrollment strategies.
6. Reconciles and prepares all requested financial aid tracking and metric reports accurately and on time.
7. Serves as a liaison between financial aid and other College departments.
8. Establishes and maintains lines of communication with campus management to ensure effective decision making as it pertains to student financial services.
9. Maintains professional membership for professional development as well as participates in state, regional and national training.
10. Performs other duties as requested, directed or assigned.

Requirements
Required Skills and Experience:
· Requires strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills with the ability to write reports, business correspondence, PowerPoint presentations, and procedure manuals. Must be able to effectively present information and respond to questions from prospective students, admissions employees, managers, and other college personnel.
· Excellent organization and time management skills are necessary. Must consistently demonstrate the ability to respond to changing situations in a flexible manner in order to meet current needs. Requires the ability to make sound judgments and take the initiative to make decisions/choices within the functional area of responsibility. Extensive travel is required.
· Demonstrated problem solving and negotiation skills. Must exhibit the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization may exist. Demonstrated ability to benchmark best practices and network within the community to ensure departmental and organization competitive advantage.
Experience:
· Minimum of three to five years of relevant, hands-on experience in college financial aid and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience, preferably in a competitive college environment.
· Minimum one year experience managing a diverse workforce in a fast-paced environment.
· Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with an emphasis on Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point. Must have good command of the English language, in both oral and written form.
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or related discipline required.
Desired Experience:
Background in FA/Student Accounts from an institution of higher education.
