Emergency Management / Hazard Mitigation Program Manager
Dewberry has an immediate opening for a Senior Project Manager for Hazard Mitigation and Emergency Management Services in our New Orleans, Louisiana office. This is an excellent career opportunity for an enthusiastic and talented individual to work with and lead an exciting team of professionals. The position offers great potential for professional growth in a wonderful working environment and the opportunity to work in the areas of hazard mitigation planning and emergency management. Position will support federal, state and local government and private sector clients throughout the Gulf Coast and the United States. Successful candidates will assist with preparing technical and cost proposals, serve as subject matter expert on existing Emergency Management and Homeland Security projects, and assist in identifying marketing opportunities and developing marketing and strategic plans.
- Lead and work hazard mitigation and emergency management projects
- Project Management including; scope, schedule and budget
- Supervising technical processing of work performed by team
- Supervision of project metrics
- Provide subject matter expertise in the various elements of hazard mitigation planning and emergency management.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Planning, Engineering, Environmental Design or Emergency Management or related field
- Minimum 8 years experience required, including 4 as a Project Manager.
- Must have experience managing a diverse team.
- Ability to assist in identifying marketing opportunities and developing marketing and strategic plans.
- Prepare statements of qualifications and proposals.
- Lead or help with the drafting of technical and cost proposals.
- Establish a network of firms for teaming opportunities.
- Establish a network of contacts and develop additional projects.
- Execute project plans, prepare project deliverables and meet client expectations.
- Coordinate with clients any changes in priorities and requirements.
- Independently undertake and complete a variety projects with minimal assistance.
- Undertake and complete technical project work in accordance with Contract scopes.
- Ability to serve as subject matter expert on existing mitigation and emergency management projects including areas such as HIRA, PDM, project scoping etc.
- Identify potential marketing targets and develop capture plans.
- Execute project plans, prepare project deliverables and meet client expectations.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to effectively achieve positive results in marketing and business development to include experience preparing proposals (technical and cost) is preferred.
- Experience with an engineering consulting firm is a plus.
- Experience managing large planning programs/projects is a plus.
Experience Required
- Knowledge of and experience in multiple facets of emergency management and homeland security consultation.
- Strong oral and written communications, including skill with Microsoft Power Point and Excel (GIS helpful).
- Professional accreditation desirable.
- Providing technical leadership to teams of professional and non-professional staff.
- Developing and maintaining client relationships.
