Description
The Rehabilitation Services Manager provides leadership for the Rehabilitation Services Department (Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, and Speech/Language Pathology) in the development and implementation of interdisciplinary patient-outcomes, and focused rehabilitation services and programs. The manager is responsible for staff recruitment, training and retention; providing input into the annual operating and capital expenditure budgets for the department; development and implementation of department policies and procedures, treatment protocols consistent with the hospital vision, mission and strategic plan; participation in measurement, assessment and improvement of rehabilitation services and programs.
OSHA Task Category: The normal procedure involves potential exposure to blood, body fluids or tissue. Universal Precautions with patients should be adhered to in the unlikely event of accidental exposure with ready access to first aid. Protective devices should be worn by the employee when performing tasks that may cause exposure.
Requirements
Position Requirements.
- Licensed (Occupational Therapist) OT, (Physical Therapist) PT or Speech Language Pathologist
- 2 current years of supervisory / management experience within an acute care or long term acute care facility
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
The right candidate must have the ability to communicate effectively (written and verbal) with medical and administrative staff as well as patients and families, in a professional manner. Excellent organizational and leadership skills are required as well as the ability to effectively handle multiple tasks simultaneously. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to organize and manage departments, meetings and inspections and efficiently manage departments within budgetary constraints.
