Project Manager Highway/Transportation (43532) 



The Richmond (Glen Allen) office of Dewberry is seeking a Project Manager to provide leadership and innovation within their expanding Highway/Transportation department. The Project Manager will lead efforts in a wide range of projects including all facets of highway and transportation design, roadway design and traffic analysis.  The Project Manager will work in a team environment with primary responsibility for the design and production of roadway construction documents. Overseeing and working closely with CADD technicians, designers, and project engineers, The Project Manager will design roadway plans for both private and public projects.
 

 Requirements

  • BS/MS degree in Civil Engineering
  • Registered Professional Engineer in VA (or able to get via reciprocity within 3 months)
  • 5+ years experience in transportation, highway and roadway design, or closely related engineering field; 2+ years experience in project management.
  • Experience in the following technical areas:
    • Road/highway design,
    • Vertical and horizontal alignments,
    • Traffic Engineering,
    • Pavement section design,
    • Drainage system design.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and MicroStation
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Local Experience is highly preferred.


The position requires a dynamic hands on senior level project manager with 5 - 10 years of transportation experience. Candidates must have the ability to lead and manage engineering staff on multiple projects and work with clients to achieve positive results. Successful candidates will have at least 3 years experience in a consulting environment. The position requires a BS/MS degree in Civil Engineering and a VA P.E. registration. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with the aptitude to train, mentor and develop staff. Successful Candidates will lead the production effort and be involved in marketing and business development activities for highway, transportation, roadway design projects. This position requires the ability to lead the efforts of others, balance the workload, and track utilization of the staff.
