Description
· Provides advanced nursing care to orthopaedic patients. Prescribes medication and orders other non-pharmacological therapies and radiologic studies as appropriate.
· Participates in patient assessment and the formulation of medical treatment and care plans. Assesses physical, developmental and psychosocial health status of patients through the collection of health data with comprehensive history taking & physical examination. Diagnoses and manages acute episodic orthopaedic problems, as well as some chronic orthopaedic conditions. Consults with physical therapists regarding patient progress.
· Focuses on patient and family needs and quality of service. Participates in problem solving of patient complaints. Assists patients to maintain current level of health and prevent further illness. Involves patient in management of care, provides patient education to facilitate patient self-management.
· Provides positive, constructive leadership for patient care team. Enables and encourages others to participate and achieve high level of performance. Actively works to solve problems/improve systems in constructive thoughtful manner. Demonstrates caring and friendly attitude toward patients, coworkers and ancillary providers.
· Develops and maintains current protocols for role as ARNP. Makes appropriate and timely referrals consistent with protocols. Demonstrates proficiency and current technical skills in all areas of practice. Maintains legible, accurate and confidential medical records.
· Supports cooperative clinical initiatives. Seeks appropriate and timely consultations.
· Reviews medical records of prospective patients and identifies surgical candidates, discusses treatment plan and aids in coordinating care.
· Maintains a productive work schedule, meeting office and organization productivity guidelines. Arrives on time and minimizes absences. Fulfills all duties as assigned by physician and team leader.
Job Summary
Working 40+ hours per week under direct supervision of physician, the ARNPor PA will: conduct complete physicals, provide treatment and counsel patients; order tests and interpret test results; recommend treatment plans; administer therapeutic procedures; assist physician as needed.

Requirements
Minimum: 2 years ARNP/PA experience in orthopaedic setting. Needs to be able to hit the ground running in office assessment & treatment of patients-including joint injections
Knowledge/skill requirements
Minimum: Excellent written and verbal communication, problem solving, leadership and decision-making skills, strong customer service skills, intermediate computer skills.
Education requirements
Minimum: Masters degree in Nursing from accredited school of nursing and graduate of accredited ARNP program or PA programs
Certificates/Licensure
Minimum: Current Tennessee State RN and ARNP license; Prescriptive Authority in State of Tennessee.
Preferred: Certified Family Nurse Practitioner, PA,C
