Job Description 

OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center is looking for a bright, energetic, self- motivated individual who would like to help us build our bariatric surgery program.  You will have the freedom to start from the ground up. This position will be challenged with creating a bariatric program that will meet all the credentials for a center of excellence. 

  

Working with other disciplines, the nurse practitioner will be the pivotal health care professional for patient care coordination and program credentialing.  We have two bariatric surgeons, dieticians, exercise specialists, and psychologists.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Nurse Practitioner (Bariatric Coordinator) provides professional leadership in working with the bariatric practice staff, hospital personnel, referring physicians and patients.  Provides specialized care to the bariatric patient population by effectively coordinating the patient through the entire experience, including pre-operative weight loss programs, surgical requirements and post operative follow-up.  The goal of the coordinator is to optimize patient outcomes and improve the quality of life to the morbidly obese through efficient practice management and clinical and educational expertise. The coordinator will manage all components of the program and work collaboratively with the Manager of Ambulatory care for strategic planning and program direction.

 


Job Requirements 

Current Illinois RN and APN license.  BLS required.  Minimum of 1 year acute care hospital experience within the last three years.  General surgery, gastro-intestinal or acute care hospital background  preferred.
