We are seeking a take-charge sales professional with the skills necessary for finding new business, expanding and maintaining current business, in addition to providing strategic direction that will provide strong growth for the 3PL business unit. This leadership position will provide direct supervision to department personnel and assist with employee development and training to ensure department goals and objectives are met.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Identifies new freight and cold storage opportunities that enable strong growth for the 3PL business unit. Negotiates contract rates with both freight and cold storage customers. Accountable for achieving established annual sales goals.
- Works with new and established customer base to determine which types of services are best suited for both parties. Works to develop a strategy for the establishment of national freight lanes for J&B, in addition to those that fit our current logistics platform. Maintains an environment of continual improvement in process and procedure.
- Builds professional relationships throughout the company and maintains strong cross functional communication with both internal and external J&B customers.
- Staff development and management responsibilities include employment decisions, writing and conducting performance evaluations, objective setting and associate development; planning, assigning, and directing work; disciplinary actions, addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field preferred.
- Progressive track record of 5+ years of freight, warehouse, operations and/or handling of third party experience.
- 5+ years of sales experience.
- 5+ years experience in a management role.
- Working knowledge of pricing, budgeting, freight contracts and transportation procedures. Experience dealing with service challenges and customer concerns.
- Must possess a results-oriented, customer-focus style, and excellent analytical, communication and negotiation skills.
- Strong organization and time management skills, and the proven ability to deliver results in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain quality working relationships with staff and customers.
- PC proficiency with MS Office Suite.
