Description
Responsible for ensuring all aspects of software development projects are effectively managed to meet customer expectations. ACT is a not-for-profit, nationally recognized leader in assessment and information services for education, whose culture values work/life balance. Typical work-related activities include:
- General client management, including assisting clients in analysis and development of business cases, requirements definition, and the setting and management of priorities for large scale technology projects. Communicate closely with customers and potential customers in understanding the impact and requirements of ACT’s technology-based products and services.
- Manage the day-to-day relationships with assigned clients, learning the customer’s business, client base, and strategy.
- Use standard project management practices and principles to develop, maintain and execute project plans and schedules for minor and major projects.
- Provide clear, regular verbal and written communications to customers, managers, and team members on the status of projects and tasks.
- Assure that responsibility is assigned and accepted for each project deliverable and activity.
- Control the scope of work, including budget and schedule, as defined in the requirements and project plan. Actively manage scope changes. Ensure that projects are delivered within baseline scope, schedule, cost and quality.
- Identify, communicate, and manage risks associated with projects by using the expertise of the team to identify the problem and taking corrective action. Appropriately escalate issues that may affect project completion.
- Facilitate decisions on product and project deliverables.
- Identify deviations from the project plan and manage the activities to bring the project back on plan.
- Understand available technology, in order to guide projects and suggest appropriate or innovative solutions.
- Provide timely and accurate reporting of hours, expenses and schedule.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field and 7 years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of the software development life cycle, technical product development, requirements elicitation, and project planning and cost estimation. Extensive experience in implementing technology systems to meet business needs, and excellent customer interaction skills are needed.
Experience or familiarity with educational assessments, assessment products;and knowledge of business process mapping, CQM or Lean training.
