Located in the northern Chicago suburbs along the shores of beautiful Lake Michigan, our entities include: Evanston Hospital, Glenbrook Hospital, Highland Park Hospital, Skokie Hospital, Research Institute, Foundation and Medical Group.
We are currently seeking a Manager for our Risk Management department. This position is located at Skokie Hospital, with easy access to the CTA and METRA.
In this role, you will:
*Participates in clinical and environmental risk assessments
*Conducts monthly meetings with clinical staff to review data and monitor trends
*Prepares and provides monthly data analysis reports for Corporate Clinical Quality Committees
*Provides occurrence management of all site specific reported patient safety events
*Conducts thorough and timely investigations to determine preventability and if they represent error
*Coordinates communication of preventable untoward outcomes to key corporate individuals as per protocol
*Provides containment of corporate exposure through potential claims management duties
*Investigates occurrences to identify Potentially Compensable Events
*Identifies cases appropriate for early resolution efforts
*Minimizes risk exposure through strategic planning
*Provides rotating 24/7 on call risk consultation services
Our ideal candidate will have:
*Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree preferred
*Current RN license or similar clinical licensure required
*Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM) required or obtained within 1 year of hire date
*5+ years of acute healthcare experience with a minimum of 3 years in acute healthcare risk management
*Strong written and verbal communication skills
*Ability to deal with all levels of the organization confidently and professionally
*Excellent conflict resolution and mediation skills
*Strong investigative and analytical skills
*Ability to be flexible and adaptable to changing situations and priorities
*Ability to develop and present educational programs
*Strong multi-tasking abilities
