Description

WAREHOUSE WORKER


PRIMARY FUNCTION  

Efficiently and safely handles all cartons to ensure productive and accurate processing of merchandise to the store network.  May be responsible for one or more of the following job duties.


PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

1.      Receiving:  Unloads cartons and/or pallets of cartons from inbound trailers.  Unloading cartons is done by hand, while pallets are unloaded with a pallet jack or electric fork truck.  Cartons are palletized for movement through the warehouse, or for storage in the warehouse.  Inbound receipts are checked in by detail using a hand written document and also by key entry into the warehouse computer system.

 

2.      General Pallet Moving:  Moves pallets of merchandise through the warehouse with an electric pallet jack.  Pallets are moved to various departments and storage locations.

 

3.      Stocking:  Locates and removes pallets of merchandise in storage locations.  This is accomplished with the use of an electric fork truck and radio frequency operated computer terminal.  The warehouse computer system is updated as work is performed.

 

4.      Depalletization:  Hand unloads cartons from pallets and/or carts, and places them on a mechanized conveyor system.  An adhesive backed bar-coded label is also hand applied to each carton.

 

5.      Order Processing:  Operates an elevated fork truck that is driven to various storage locations identified on an adhesive backed bar-coded pick label.  Cartons are hand retrieved from pallets in storage locations, and then delivered to the depalletization department.

 

7.      Shipping:  Hand unloads cartons from an electrically operated conveyor, and then hand stacks them into an outbound trailer.  Pallets of merchandise are loaded into outbound trailers with the use of pallet jack or electric fork truck.

 

 

8.      Inventory Control:  Checks and maintains storage location (carton count) accuracy in the warehouse.  This is accomplished by manually viewing storage locations, and interacting with the warehouse computerized location management system.

 

9.      Supply Music & Movies/Repack:  These departments perform similar functions to the Receiving, General Pallet Moving, Stocking and Order Processing departments, but deal with specific types of merchandise, that have separate storage areas within the warehouse.

 

10.    Paperwork:  Accurately maintains and interprets required paperwork, in assigned warehouse area.

11.    Facility Cleanliness/Safety:  Ensures work area is organized, neat and clean.  Always uses safe lifting techniques and operates all power equipment safely.

 

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

 

  • Cheerful and helpful attitude towards customers/guests

  • Work independently and in a TEAM environment

  • Good communication skills

  • Accurately use basic math skills

  • Good personal and team organizational skills

  • Able to operate all power equipment safely

  • Able to operate CRT terminal

  • Able to read labels, tickets, and other product documentation

  • Able to lift and carry merchandise weighing up to 47 lbs. regularly, and up to 60 lbs. on an infrequent basis

 

 Pay:  $13.50 per hour.
