Description

Client is a leading division of a global food and beverage company.  They offer a complete benefit package including 401(k) and relocation.  Job responsibilities include:

 

  • Accountable for $25MM - $60MM spend on ingredient and/or commodities
  • Plan, organize, direct and control activities related to categories of spend managed
  • Prepare instructions regarding purchasing systems and procedures
  • Analyze market and delivery conditions to determine present and future material availability/price and prepare market analysis reports
  • Develop and utilize a system to evaluate vendor quotations with appropriate negotiation and purchasing techniques to ensure quality, price, delivery, and service
  • Design, implement, manage and monitor procurement reporting systems to meet company requirements
  • Recruit and maintain suppliers that provide high quality products and services at a better price with maintaining code of ethics and conduct
  • Prepare and issue purchase contracts and change notices
  • Review and resolve vendor claims and contracts for conformance to company policy
  • Prepare and review contracts, bids, proposals, and vendor agreements for legal correctness, price, and acceptability of items to specifications
  • Oversee all activities related to procurement of a material, from intent to purchase through delivery of the material
  • Negotiate complex requests for materials and arrange buy-backs of surplus materials
Requirements

The following requirements must be met to be considered for the position:

 

  • BS/BA; Master’s degree preferred
  • 2-3 years related CPG food or food-related purchasing experience
  • Experience leveraging vendor relationships and achieving cost savings from strategic cost reduction programs
  • Experience running negotiations through e-procurement
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a big plus
