About Us
In 1881, Blessed Luigi Guanella founded a religious congregation, the Servants of Charity, whose primary mission is to minister to persons with developmental disabilities. In 1959, this congregation accepted the invitation of two late American Cardinals, Cardinal O'Hara of Philadelphia and Cardinal Mooney of Detroit, to come to this country. The Servants of Charity began their work with boys who had developmental disabilities at Don Guanella School in Delaware County, PA, and at St. Louis School, now in Chelsea, MI.

Don Guanella Village, a school and residential ICF for developmentally challenged men is looking for a dedicated, dynamic Human Resource Manager.
Summary of Human Resources Manager
Develops policy and directs and coordinates human resources activities, such as employment, compensation, employee relations, benefits, training, and employee services by performing the following duties
Responsibilities of Human Resources Manager

Coordinates all HR activities including recruiting, performance evaluation, employee relations, compensation and training.

Insures compliance with all regulatory requirements for HR files and reports with the State (EEOC, OSHA, etc), Counties (Civil Rights Compliance forms, etc.) and any that may be required for Catholic Social Services (CSS) or the MR Services Division, or as requested by the Administrator.

Supervises HR staff.

As requested analyzes wage and salary reports and data to determine competitive compensation plan.

Prepares personnel forecast to project employment needs.

Writes directives advising department managers of company policy regarding equal employment opportunities, compensation, and employee benefits.

Consults legal counsel to ensure that policies comply with federal and state law.

Develops and maintains a human resources system that meets management information needs.

Oversees the analysis, maintenance, and communication of records required by law or local governing bodies, or other departments in the organization.

Studies legislation and arbitration decisions to assess industry HR trends.

As requested writes and delivers presentations to CSS officers or government officials regarding human resources policies and practices.

Maintains a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a professional manner with clients, co-workers and supervisors.

Responsible for additional duties as directed by the Administrator.
