LOCATION: Barre, VT
Primary Responsibilities
The Database Administrator is responsible for the performance, integrity and security of Northern Power’s core database systems. This position is expected to take a leadership role in the implementation of NPS’ ERP system. It will also take a central role in the rollout of the new CRM system in support of sales and marketing activities.
Required Skills
- Extensive SQL programming skills and experience
- Experience in database backup and recovery procedures, access security and database integrity, physical data storage design and data storage management.
- Strong working knowledge of Windows networking fundamentals and best practices
- Report writing experience, including Crystal Reports, MS Reporting Services and other common tools
- ERP systems experience and ability to understand, document and support complex processes in a manufacturing environment
- Familiarity with accounting systems and ability to support complex accounting and financial reporting needs
- Familiarity with CRM systems and concepts
Typical activities
- Join the ERP management team in directing the implementation and ongoing optimization of NPS’s new ERP system (Global Shop).
- Assist in the integration of financial functions into the new ERP system
- Assist in the development of database program in support of complex site evaluation / lead generation functions specific to wind power industry
- Create custom reports
- Manage user access and security
- Create and manage documentation for all database activities, including data standards, procedures and definitions for the data dictionary
- Manage and test database backup and recovery plans
- Train end users
- Manage database-related projects
