CORPORATE SUPPLIER QUALITY MANAGER

 

This global ingredients giant that makes a wide variety of commercial bakery products, including frozen dough and batters, icings and glazes, powdered and liquid fillings, whipped toppings, and frozen cakes is searching for a qualified CORPORATE SUPPLIER QUALITY MANAGER for multiple locations, reporting directly to the Director of Quality; position located near Atlanta, GA,

 

Corporate Supplier Quality Manager represents a significant area for quality improvement for this company.  Presently, no specific resources are focused on working with suppliers to assure all materials are “fit for use" within the company’s system; this situation represents a gap in the food safety/ quality management resources.  As this company positions itself to be the manufacturer of premium bakery products and the supplier of choice, it is imperative to have materials that are consistently “fit for use" with which to operate.

 

The Supplier Quality Manager will:

  • Create a Supplier Quality Qualification Process  - design and create a standard process against which all suppliers quality performance/capability will be assessed; partner with Procurement to establish a network of suppliers who can continually meet the company’s requirements for materials at acceptable cost
  •  Establish supplier quality performance measures and review performance; define supplier audit requirements and Corrective Action Plan follow-up procedures 
  • Establishing relationships and work with suppliers to improve their technical, processing, and quality professional capabilities; apply statistical tools to quantify process capability; share analytical methods to assure consistency; “raise the bar" to support current and future business needs; drive Continuous Improvement of Supplier processes and capabilities 
  • Provide leadership and direct management to the Supplier Vendor Specialist and coordinates improvements efforts across the supplier network.
  • Liaise with other Op Cos to establish a common network of mutually qualified suppliers

Salary Range: $75K-$90K plus bonus potential; Benefits; Relocation Package; EOE; No Sponsorship available with this company

Requirements

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE & EDUCATION

  • BS degree in Technical / Science discipline (Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, Food Science, etc.) 
  •  >7 yrs in developing and implementingCorporate’ Supplier Quality programs within a food/ consumer products company for multiple locations; prefer bakery
  •  >5 yrs of Significant Leadership experience
  • >3yrss Quality Audit experience 
  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer or Manager of Quality and organizational Excellence preferred.
  • Experienced in the application of quality tools:

GMP, HACCP, Pareto, Histograms, Brainstorming, Fishbone, Cp, CpK, ANOVA, control charts, DOE, Regression Analysis, Statistical Sampling, Tests of Significance, Ishikawa, Affinity Diagrams, Flowchart, FEMA, Quality Audit
