RFA/Minnesota Engineering www.rfamec.com is an engineering and design service company dedicated to providing clients with timely and appropriate help on an as-needed basis. We provide quality design engineering services to over 200 companies. State of the art computers, CAD software and analysis software allow us to work interactively with our clients and function as an extension of the client's engineering staff.

We work in all areas of mechanical design, including off-highway mobile equipment and mechanical power transmission, consumer, recreational, industrial, medical products and one-of-a-kind special manufacturing machines. Projects include new product design and development, redesign of existing products, cost reduction, problem-solving, concept and analysis.



Requirements

We are currently seeking Mechanical Design Engineers to fill positions within our firm to provide support for our client in its location in Lafayette, IN.

 

RFA employees work on many of the engine platforms and systems including cooling, lube, inlet air and exhaust, fuel,  performance and mounting/platform packaging. Specific responsibilities include create design concepts, DFMEA, working with component suppliers, ordering first article or test parts, and releasing to production. Onsite engineer will work within the clients team and leverage offsite design support from our Minneapolis office.

 

Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:

  • Four year degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Technical Graphics or equivalent.
  • Experience with ProEngineer or similar solid modeling CAD program.
  • Candidate must be able to work well in a team environment, work on multiple tasks, and have good technical communication skills.
  • Desirable Qualifications: Engine design and development experience, application of analysis tools including FEA and CFD to engine system designs, technical background on diesel or gas engine systems, ability to lead and work multiple projects.
  •  Previous design experience including familiarity with off-highway vehicle engineering standards a plus.
