Job Description
The Accounting Supervisor is responsible for supervising the accounting functions and preparation of reports and statistics detailing financial results. The Accounting Supervisor will also be responsible for supervising the day to day operations of accounting employees.
Essential Job Functions
- Supervises and coordinates the work of accounting staff.
- Reviews and analyzes financial reports.
- Maintains accounting records.
- Manages annual external audit
- Manages annual budget and quarterly forecast process
- Maintains the integrity of the financial system general ledger.
- Coordinates and facilitates the design and implementation of automated accounting and financial systems.
- Advises other departments on accounting policies and technical procedures.
- Develops procedures related to compliance with GAAP, policies, and procedures.
- Establishes accounting policies, procedures, internal controls and monitoring programs.
- Manages special projects for the Controller, and coordinates related committees and task forces.
- Directs fiscal accounting studies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant area of study or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5+ years related accounting experience.
- 1-2 years experience in a supervisory or lead role.
- Project costing experience highly preferred.
- Strong GAAP knowledge.
- Solid analytical skills.
- Proficiency utilizing advanced functions of Microsoft Excel.
- Specialization in one or more functional areas such as accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, budget is required.
