Description Global legal association seeks Senior Marketing Communications Manager.  This position reports to the Director of Marketing and Communications (DOM).  Responsibilities will include:

  

1.      Implementation of external marketing programs including event sponsorships, advertising, public relations, and direct marketing/e-marketing campaigns.

2.      Development of external marketing materials including writing, editing and design of website text; press releases; brochures; external presentations; exhibits; sponsorship materials; success stories; and direct mail campaigns.  Coordinate production of materials when needed with design firm. 

3.      Work with DOM and other team members in the design, maintenance and management of websites.

 

4.      Serving as a consultant/team member on an as needed basis in the development of internally focused marketing materials, i.e., member firm presentations; directory text; newsletter articles; member publications, member co-branding kits, best practices, event/program overviews, etc.

5.      Management of advertising program.  Work with DOM in planning and budgeting of yearly ad campaign. Assist in developing ad concepts; work with design firm in ad development; oversee advertising contracts; coordinate ad placements; and ensure budget is being met. 

 

6.      Overseeing corporate counsel/legal event sponsorship program and media sponsorships. Work with DOM in planning yearly event sponsorship program; ensure contracts are correct and fulfilled; supervise staff in the planning, execution and follow-up for each sponsored event; and ensure budgets are met.

 

7.      Overseeing outreach and initiatives with corporate counsel associations. Work with DOM to develop and implement programs to maximize relationships with these associations.  Supervise work of staff to implement programs.

 

8.      Assisting in the development and execution of Lex Mundi programs and events for corporate counsel including in-person events, webinars and podcasts.

 

9.      Managing the activities of the Lex Mundi Client Advisory Council.

 

10.  Overseeing the leads and VIP leads programs.

 

11.  Implementing public relations program and special media projects.  Work with the DOM to plan and implement public relations initiatives and projects.  Write/edit press releases and articles. Target and pitch special stories to media.  Respond to and direct media enquiries to appropriate persons within Lex Mundi.  Supervise work of staff on special media projects (PLC/InsideCounsel).

 

12.  Ensuring that branding and messaging are used appropriately in all external communications.

 

13.  Assist as needed on member firm co-branding program and serve as a team member with other staff to work with member firms on their co-branding activities.

14.  Overseeing corporate sponsorship program. Manage staff in the development of sponsorship materials; sponsor target lists; and responding to sponsor inquiries.  Oversee fulfillment of sponsorship contracts.

15.  Providing business development/sales support as needed.

16.  Serve as a team member in social media projects, such as the Martindale-Hubbell Connected network, as needed.

17.  Work with DOM and Vice President on Lex Mundi Guides to Doing Business program.

 

Requirements Experience: The ideal candidate will have at least a 4-year college and a minimum of 8 years of marketing communications experience, in roles with increasing responsibilities, including supervisory responsibilities.  Candidates should have experience implementing and managing a range of marketing and branding programs including advertising, public relations, direct marketing; event sponsorships, etc. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in law firm marketing and business development. 

Skills needed:  The ideal candidate will have superior communications skills, both written and verbal; experience in creation of a wide-range of collateral, both print and electronic; good interpersonal skills; an ability to work with professionals from around the globe; good personal presentation skills; excellent project management skills and strong multi-tasking ability; experience with Microsoft Suite of programs and Adobe suite of publishing programs; extensive experience with website development including design and navigation, maintenance and webpage development; experience working with content management systems with databases.  Candidate should be professional, organized and detail oriented.  A “can do" approach to client service is essential.
