VOA Department Manager Summary:
CAS/Jacksonville, Florida is a full service analytical laboratory providing testing for many industrial, government and consulting firms in the southeastern United States. As with other CAS facilities, CAS/Jacksonville serves international clients, having the necessary permits to accept foreign water and soils in the country for analysis. The laboratory’s technical expertise includes the analysis of routine environmental samples, landfill samples, DOD projects and waste stream characterization. They also perform industry specific testing for pulp and paper manufacturers. CAS/Jacksonville offers field sampling and local courier service. They also provide a variety of customized reports, including electronic data deliverables and full CLP-like packages.
Responsibilities of VOA Department Manager Includes:
- Accountable for the timely performance and quality of the VOA department work. With minimal supervision, candidate will plan and manage all activities relating to those departments.
- Responsible for quality control of laboratory work including intermediate or final review of projects as required.
- Works with Quality Assurance Program Manager to maintain certification in the respective areas of the lab.
- Assures that work is being performed using appropriate technologies, encouraging, directing development, and application of state-of-the-art methodologies and techniques.
- Personnel responsibilities include coordination of unit workloads, conducting employee performance reviews, recommending personnel changes, additions, and participation in recruiting process.
- Candidate has high level role in data evaluation and report responsibility.
- Supervises, trains, and develops staff.
- Monitors work load and project flow through self or assigned team leaders.
- Monitors adherence to corporate safety plans and policies.
