Texas Specialty Hospital Dallas, a 66 bed, long term acute care facility for patients who require extended hospitalization to meet their medical needs is seeking a well rounded, experienced HIM professional to lead our department. We are seeking a working manager who has recent hands on inpatient coding experience. Demonstrated ability to perform problem-solving and cognitive reasoning, routinely analyzing situations to make informed decisions.
Position Summary:
- Ensures compliance with health information requirements established by The Joint Commission, NCQA, federal and state regulations, DPH, CMS, medical staff bylaws and regional and local policies and procedures
- Be responsible for directing, implementing, and coordinating all programs, policies, and procedures within the HIM Department
- Be responsible for the daily coding and functions of the HIM Department.
- Be responsible for the direct supervision of one other employee in the HIM Department
- Actively participate in meetings with the Governing Board, Medical Staff, Case Management, Utilization Review, etc
- Medical Staff Credentialing
- Utilize an open communication style with all levels of staff
