This position’s main responsibility is to run nightly, weekly, and monthly system backups and to execute all regularly scheduled night runs and any unscheduled night runs that are requested and then scheduled by the Operations Manager:
-Monitor and control the computer system by operating the central console(s) or online terminals.
-Study program operating instruction sheets to determine equipment setup and run operations.
-Monitor the operation of the computer to determine the point of any equipment setup and run operations.
-Follow standard procedures to continue operations when individual units of the system malfunction.
-Will sometimes receive trouble calls from computer users and aid them with instructions as to proper procedures or problem determination.
-In the event of equipment failure, under the direction of the Operations Manager, contact vendors for maintenance.
-Responsible for vendor performance of maintenance.
-Maintain operating records, such as machine performance and production reports.
-Perform equipment maintenance as required.
