Job Description 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily.  Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

 

  • Reports to Warehouse Supervisor / Branch Manager for trip instructions and in-house duties as assigned.

 

  • Responsible for providing efficient and courteous service to customers while delivering product; completing all paperwork required by the Branch and by Corporate Traffic; properly maintain equipment used.

 

  • Proper stock rotation at customer locations according to SOP and Auditing procedures.

 

  • Check customer consignments on route. 

 

  • Uses pallet jack to load own truck with help of warehouse personnel.  Forklift certified to move product within warehouse.

 

  • Follows all DOT rules and regulations as they pertain to driver logs, hours of service rules, weight regulations, placarding regulations, proper license, etc.

 

  • Keeps vehicle clean and promptly reports all maintenance requirements and vehicle issues to Supervisor.  Performs pre-trip inspections on regular basis.

 

  • Reports all customer deliveries through proper paperwork.  Secure customer's signature on all delivery documents.

 

  • Pick up customer junks / warranties / returns and complete proper paperwork for items received.

 

  • Keep pro ratas / junks / new returns properly segregated so Supervisor can receive product into inventory at end of day.

 

  • At end of trip, turn in all paperwork to Supervisor and all checks, money orders, cash received, etc. directly to Branch Coordinator.

 

  • Retain original receipts for all tolls and fuel purchases.  Complete Driver Trip report each week for Highway Use and Fuel Taxes.

 

  • Assist with monthly and yearly inventory – tag/tally

 

  • Follow all company policies and standard operating procedures in job performance
 


Job Requirements 

QUALIFICATIONS: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

 

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Minimum 22 years of age and 2 years driving experience and valid Class A or B CDL w/Hazmat endorsement preferable

  • Physically demanding job.  Ability to frequently lift up to 50 pounds or more

  • Possible exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals

 

TOOLS & EQUIPMENT USED:

Computer including driver route GPS and time clock.  Warehouse equipment including forklift, pallet jack, tailgate lift.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
