Description
This individual will primarily be responsible for preparing and analyzing key internal financial performance reports related to sales, margins, inventory, expenses and balance sheet accounts. He/she will evaluate the financial results, analyze the operating drivers behind the results and provide written commentary to management and external auditors to explain the fluctuations against budget, prior year, etc. He/she will also build cooperative working relationships with internal business partners and gain an understanding of various operational and financial processes to facilitate the analysis and internal reporting. This individual will also be involved in key special projects that involve financial/accounting support.
Job Duties
- Analyze financial results and provide written commentary to document results for management and auditors
- Assist management by reviewing schedules prepared by peers including validation of numbers presented and explanations provided
- Prepare financial schedules for internal and external reporting packages
- Develop special reports and ad hoc analysis
- Perform process reviews and offer recommendations for improvements in efficiency and accuracy
- Assist with special projects and additional tasks as needed
Requirements
- BS in Accounting or Finance
- 2 to 3 years of accounting experience
- Ability to work with very little supervision
- Strong accounting and analytical skills
- Strong technical skills with heavy emphasis on Excel and MS Access
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in fast paced environment
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Flexibility and adaptability to respond accordingly to shifting demands and priorities
