Description Professional Development Coordinator - Global legal association seeks individual with 5 years experience who wants to use their skills in a unique environment.   The Professional Development Coordinator is the primary support person for the Professional Development team, with special responsibility for administering the online course program and mandatory continuing legal education (MCLE) filings. The position entails daily accountability to a Professional Development Senior Manager and reports to the Director of Professional Development.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Provides support to the Professional Development Senior Manager in organizing online programming, utilizing software tools as required. In particular:

a. Works with Lex Mundi staff and the online provider to post webcasting (video) and/or webinar (audio)  information for courses.

b. Liaises with instructors to collect and organize course material.

 

c. Works with the online provider to upload material, video and audio media files.

d. Monitors the registration process and credit card payments, and solves any related problems.

e. Enters and maintains all database information for online courses.

f. Monitors website traffic and prepares monthly tracking reports for distribution.

g. Maintains course catalog and updates website.

 

2. Works with the Professional Development Senior Manager to organize educational content  for MCLE filings. In particular:

a.       Files MCLE applications with various jurisdictions for accreditation for online courses and Lex Mundi Conferences.

b.      Maintains in-house MCLE records in accordance with jurisdictional requirements.

c.       Enters and maintains all database information related to MCLE filings.

d.      Interacts with course registrants to address and resolve MCLE questions.

e.       Interacts with various jurisdictions to address and resolve MCLE filing issues.

3. Works with Lex Mundi staff, member firm lawyers, external consultants, and other instructors to facilitate presentations for professional development events and projects, as needed.

4. Assists with Power Point presentations, collation of graphics, preparation of tables, Excel reports, and other tasks.

5. Organizes departmental meetings, conference calls and travel arrangements for instructors.

6. Supports the Professional Development Senior Manager(s) and the Director of Professional Development in organizing and providing professional development information for use in reports and publications.

7. Provides administrative support to the Director of Professional Development and for general team needs as they arise.

8. Contributes to Lex Mundi’s goal to continually improve its image internally and externally.  Displays professionalism, quality service and a "can do" attitude to Lex Mundi members as well as to external clients and vendors via electronic and print correspondence, over the telephone and in-person.


9. Undertakes additional educational opportunities to advance and expand his/her knowledge, skills, and competencies as required.
Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS


Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

1.      Advanced technical skills in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Ability to become proficient on additional software programs as needed.

2.      Familiarity with database creation, data entry, and database maintenance.

3.      Strong organizational, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

4.      Outstanding attention to detail and commitment to the highest quality of service and professionalism.

5.      Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing circumstances.

6.      Ability to work well under pressure.

7.      Strong teamwork skills with a collaborative approach to working with others.

8.      Knowledge of law firms and the practice of law is desirable.


Education:

Bachelor’s Degree required. 


Experience:

A minimum of 5 years’ experience in one of the following:

·         Event organization

·         An executive personal assistant

·         Experience in a training and development function/department.



The ideal candidate for this position will demonstrate a strong technical background combined with administrative experience in a professional development department, preferably within a law firm or other legal environment.
