Description

The Reno Gazette-Journal seeks an Advertising Manager for Digital Sales to develop and execute strategies and tactics which not only drive digital revenue and market share, but also work in concert with print solutions for both the core newspaper and non-daily products and initiatives. The position is responsible for revenue across all products in the real estate and employment segments and for retail online revenue. The Advertising Manager for Digital Sales is expected to play an integral role in developing strategies to grow audiences which our customers and potential customers wish to reach. The position may be assigned other sales and marketing responsibilities.



·         Lead a team that is responsible for all real estate and employment sales and service functions across all print and digital platforms.

·         Develop and review metrics monthly that indicates market share growth in the Real Estate and Employment segments. Changing sales strategies, products and pricing as necessary to grow market share.

·         Act as the Brand Champion for the real estate verticals and employment verticals within RGJ Media.

·         Lead sales efforts for online retail, including development of strategies for the RGJ and strategic campaigns for large and small advertisers in the market which will ensure response for our customers.

·         Train, motivate, and hold accountable sales staff by providing necessary coaching and other programs, regular feedback, and conducting annual performance appraisals.

·         Work closely with advertisers to develop successful relationships, making key sales calls with staff and providing the leadership necessary on significant sales calls.

·         Work closely with the Sales and Marketing Director and Finance Director in preparation and implementation of operating budget, revenue, and expense plans.

·         Work closely with other managers in the advertising, marketing and online departments to ensure that practical, results-oriented digital proposals are made across the advertising department.

·         Work closely with the Information Center managers to ensure desired audiences continue to grow by all measurements, including page views, unique visitors and time on site.

·         Collaborate with Gannett Digital, corporate and group online and advertising staff and managers to ensure company-wide initiatives are executed and national and regional opportunities are maximized.

Requirements

·         Minimum five years of sales and marketing managerial experience, preferably at a daily newspaper, and at least 3 years of digital sales experience.

·         Bachelor’s degree or comparable experience

·         Excellent leadership, strategic, organizational, communication, management and analytical skills
